Hannah Upritchard is a London-based New Zealand jeweller and carver.

While largely self-taught, she has studied with jewellery tutors in many parts of the world, including Brazil, Italy, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Upritchard describes her work as having “a kind of Macgyver approach, inventing techniques that give my work a personality all of its own”.

I always try to make jewellery that speaks: the bumps, faults and tarnishes are as much an essential part of my work as the quality of the metals and stones.  I want my jewellery to have its own voice, to be joyful and to become more of a companion than a decoration.  Wherever possible I use fair-trade or recycled materials, including my metals, stones and packaging.
