Debbie Adamson studied Jewellery and Metalsmithing at the Otago Polytechnic School of Fine Arts, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Art

In 2011 Adamson was selected to be part of the ground-breaking three-year international mentorship programme for emerging jewellery artists, Handshake. As part of the Handshake programme, Adamson collaborated with leading Swedish artist Hanna Hedman producing work exhibited in Munich in 2013.

Other major exhibitions included the Museum of Art and Design New York in 2015 and at Objectspace in in Auckland 2016.
