Inari Kiuru
Inari Kiuru is a Finnish-born multi-disciplinary artist and designer living and working in Melbourne.
After emigrating to Australia in 1995, Kiuru worked as a graphic designer and art director before undertaking a Bachelor of Arts degree at Melbourne’s RMIT University where she graduated with Honours in Fine Art.
Experiencing the beauty of wilderness and profound impact of the changing seasons in her early years remains a strong influence in her work - translating the natural world of light, clouds and atmospheres into an urban environment.
Kiuru’s work has been exhibited in Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Germany, Estonia, the Netherlands and the US. She is represented in the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation in Sydney and the MacMillan Collection at RMIT in Melbourne.
Often experimenting with non-precious, industrial materials such as concrete and steel, the core of my practice is revealing beauty within ordinary, everyday things.
