A multi-disciplinary artist, Strauss’s work is characterised by an iconography of wild animals that are both real and imaginary. The subject matter, richly textured surfaces and sculptural forms of her dreamscapes recall memories of an African childhood, pre-historic rock art and Shamanic dance rituals.
