Wendy Fairclough

Wendy Fairclough is a New Zealand-born artist, now based in the Adelaide Hills region of South Australia.

Fairclough works across a range of media including cast lead crystal, blown glass, sculptural installation and forays into concrete, bronze and aluminium casting when the concept leads her there.

Fairclough’s still life work has been widely acclaimed, from simple everyday domestic objects through to large-scale installations. Her more recent work has been strongly evocative of her New Zealand homeland: cast glass and bronze eels; blown glass bowls and vases portraying quintessential New Zealand scenes of ponga, harakeke and cabbage trees.

Fairclough has a Bachelor of Visual Art (majoring in Sculpture and Printmaking) and a Bachelor of Applied Arts(majoring in Glass), both from the South Australian School of Art at the University of South Australia.

Her work is held in public collections in New Zealand, Australia and the US.
